Part 1) Heyyy, my name is Devin Kassel, pronounced the same as ‘castle.’ I’m 19 years old & graduated from Bellingham High School back in June of 2010. I live at home with my grandma, aunt & brother. I’ve tried moving out on my own on numerous occasions, but always made my way back to the “nest.” I’m one of my grandma’s “favorites,” so I get babied a lot. Who wouldn’t want to move back? I work as a cashier at the good old Wal-Mart, so if you see me in khaki pants & a blue top, I’ve either just came from work or have to head there after class. I am taking my pre-req’s here at Whatcom & eventually transferring to Bellevue College. Or that’s the plan anyway. I am hoping to become an ultrasound technician. I’d rather play, than work, which I’m working on finding a happy medium for. I’m ready to get started & be on my way with being done with school. I know it’s going to take some work, but I’m prepared for it all.
Part 2) I spend a lot of time on my phone and on the computer, but what other “kid” my age doesn’t? Although texting is one of my most frequent ways of writing, I’d have to go with writing letters to one of my very best friends. I try to write a little bit everyday and within a week, I’ll complete one letter. Due to certain circumstances, writing letters is one of the only ways to communicate with my friend who stays in Forks, WA. It’s a way to keep him updated on what’s going on in my life and everything around me, as well as expressing my feelings. It also helps me to take a break from the “cruel” technology and can be extremely relaxing.
