In Michael Wesch's video the larger picture is that technology may in fact be a significant downfall in a large university class. the student engagement while in class is slim to none. when students are in class, they are on their computers, but not paying attention. they dont use the books they bought- costing them hundreds of dollars, never opened. the students are not engaging in doing the reading they are assigned, rather more time on their cell phones, or "surfing the web."
