Ken Robinson

By saying that dance is as important as neuroscience, he was saying that creativity is as much a part of how we function as the other skills we acquire in our education. But he believes that it is given little to no merit. We are only working half of our brain in the traditional curriculum as he states it. He is making such provocative claims to get our attention and get our brains moving on the subject and also because of how strongly he feels. I do agree with him, I think what we can gain from being able to think and work creatively will be just as useful as any other type of education. I think is a misconception, that the idea of being creative means learning to paint and color well and things like that, but we are ultimately teaching kids how to approach situations or potentially conflict in a creative way. This would be extremely useful in everyday life.

  1. How do you think we can make schools add more creativity and make it so we're not just learning about the core requirements and things some kids dont really care about?
