Response to Sir Ken

After viewing Ken Robinson in his talk about “How Schools Kill Creativity” He states that dance is just as important as neuroscience. This is a very interesting thought and I agree with it completely. In schools we really do tend to believe that the core curriculum of math, reading and writing are the most important factors but if one really thinks on it it’s developing only half our brain. How can individuals develop the other half that is in control of creativity if that outlet is being stifled and looked less upon? I think he is making this statement because he understands that not all people excel at math or reading that many people have other strengths and if an individual is not good at what society standardizes how will they fit in? Many things in our society would have to change in order for creativity to be valued as much as math or writing. There would need to be a reform in education completely so that children are encouraged to be creative for the start and as they grow learn to embrace it.
